On February 5th, 1986, 43-year-old James Pierson of Selden, Long Island, was found shot in his driveway. His wife had died one year earlier, leaving three children as orphans. The world was shocked to discover that his sixteen-year-old daughter, Cheryl, had paid a classmate to kill her father in order to put a stop to the sexual abuse she had been subjected to — and the fear that her little sister might be next. The world was shocked to learn about the incestuous relationship, but the town of Selden was not.
